New Year, New Goals! {Goals for 2018}

I always love the start of a new year, I look forward to the idea of a “fresh start” and always find myself setting goals at this time of year.

For the last number of years I’ve had a word for the year instead of a list of goals. Some of the words I’ve had over the years have been: discipline, encourage, hospitality, serve and celebrate.

This year I didn’t have a word jump out at me, one may still, but for time time being I decided to create a list of goals for the year.

This year my goal list includes a lot of little tweaks.

I want to listen to people more and to keep my calendar fairly clear so I can be available when people need.

I want to eat better so I feel better.

I want to be a more calm and patient mother and enjoy each day.

I want to take better photos, aka get back into using my DSLR after grabbing my phone too much in the last few years.

I want to read some good classic books (I’ve chosen C.S. Lewis as my literary mentor for the year).

And I want to get back into writing in this space. I’m hoping to share some helpful posts here in the next few weeks!

What do you have on your list for 2018?

Happy New Year!

Planner supplies details:

  • a weekly planner from Dollarama (though I am looking into the Happy Planner, anyone use one? I’d love to hear your thoughts!)
  • stamps are from Artist Gather (love them, though they do turn out better when you aren’t trying to stamp them into your new planner while you are lying in bed . . . #mybad)
  • stickers were a Christmas gift from my mom (she knows me 🙂 ) but I’m pretty sure they are from Michael’s

    C.S. Lewis is probably the ideal literary mentor! Listening to those trying to talk to you is also a really good one. Hope you have an excellent 2018!
